Calcaterra (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
The Eagles could significantly bolster their depth at tight end if both Calcaterra and rookie second-rounder Eli Stowers (quadriceps) are activated from injured reserve. If he's cleared to make his 2026 debut Sunday, then Calcaterra would likely slide into the TE2 role behind Dallas Goedert and ahead of Johnny Mundt.
The Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for Calcaterra (back) on Wednesday.

Calcattera could play an expanded role against the Commanders in Week 18, as Dallas Goedert didn't practice Thursday due to a knee injury.
Goedert has missed consecutive practices, and the Eagles are unlikely to push their top tight end to play in the regular-season finale with a home game already secured for the wild-card round. Calcaterra would likely see an uptick in opportunities if Goedert sits, though the Eagles also have Kylen Granson and Cameron Latu at the position. Calcaterra had at least 30 receiving yards on four occasions during the 2024 regular season but has only seven catches for 55 yards during the 2025 campaign.
The TEs priced immediately above and below him.
