Wright was a mid-week addition to the Dolphins' injury report, after a sore foot limited his participation in practices Thursday and Friday. He took a questionable tag into the weekend but looks to be healthy enough to contribute out of the Miami backfield. In the wake of De'Von Achane's (knee) season-ending ACL tear, Ollie Gordon led the Dolphins with 100 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries to go with two catches for zero yards in a Week 4 loss to the Vikings. After that strong effort, Gordon is the favorite to pace the Miami backfield in snaps and touches once again in Week 5, but it's possible Wright cuts into his workload a bit more if he isn't slowed by the foot issue.

Wright missed Week 3 with a foot injury and stinger, before returning for Week 4 and splitting backfield work with Ollie Gordon early on. Gordon dominated snaps after breaking off a long run in the third quarter of the loss to Minnesota, and he was the favorite to take most of the carries this week even before Wright became a mid-week addition to the injury report. He's listed with a foot issue again, getting a questionable designation after limited practices Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, the Dolphins claimed RB Kaytron Allen off waivers Friday, giving them another option in the backfield.

Wright wasn't available for the Dolphins' Week 3 loss to the Chiefs while he tended to a pair of injuries, but after turning in a limited practice Wednesday and then upgrading to full activity Thursday, he looks like he'll be good to go for Sunday's game against the Vikings. With De'Von Achane (knee) out for the season, Wright and Ollie Gordon should both be in store for expanded opportunities out of the backfield, but it's not immediately clear which of the two will rank as the Dolphins' preferred option. Miami also plans to elevate one of Jarquez Hunter or Carlos Washington from the practice squad to give the team a third running back in Sunday's contest.

Prior to sitting out against the Chiefs, Wright had been working ahead of Gordon, so the former could end up being the Dolphins' preferred option once he gets back to full health.

Ollie Gordon is the favorite for whatever backfield snaps and touches aren't taken by De'Von Achane, who has played 83 percent of Miami's offensive snaps through two weeks.
Wright (neck) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Wright logged two carries for 11 yards prior to going to the locker room, where he's undergoing more tests to determine the severity of his injury and whether he can return to Sunday's game. Ollie Gordon should see an uptick in backfield snaps behind starter De'Von Achane for as long as Wright is out of the game.
Wright had two kick returns for 106 yards alongside one carry for a one-yard loss in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Raiders.

Wright gained additional competition for playing time Thursday, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Dolphins have traded wide receiver Tutu Atwell to the Rams in exchange for running back Jarquez Hunter.
Hunter didn't log a regular-season carry for the Rams during his rookie campaign, but the 2025 fourth-round pick has shown some nice burst this preseason. He's set to compete with Wright and Ollie Gordon for backup running back duties behind De'Von Achane. Gordon is currently nursing a rib injury. Wright and Gordon had 70 carries apiece in the 2025 regular season.
Wright rushed six times for 22 yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Dolphins' 20-7 preseason loss to the Commanders on Friday. He also returned one kickoff for no gain.
