Sinnott should operate in an elevated role in the Commanders' offense against the Cowboys on Sunday after Chig Okonkwo (hamstring) was ruled out.
Sinnott did not see a target from Jayden Daniels during the Commanders' Week 1 loss to the Eagles, with the former playing 18 snaps on offense. John Bates is expected to be the Commanders' TE1 in Okonkwo's absence, but Sinnott -- who drew praise from the coaching staff for his development during training camp -- also should operate in an elevated role against Dallas.
Sinnott (oblique) practiced in full Wednesday.
Sinnott has been battling an oblique injury since the preseason. However, his full participation in Wednesday's practice suggests he is cleared to suit up for the Week 1 meeting with the Eagles. The 24-year-old appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Commanders in 2025, totaling 11 catches for 114 yards and one touchdown.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said that Sinnott is dealing with an oblique injury and is unlikely to play in Friday's preseason finale versus the Ravens, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.

Sinnott could have an expanded role down the stretch, as Zach Ertz was placed on injured reserve Wednesday due to a knee injury.
After Ertz's injury, the Commanders have Sinnott, John Bates and Colson Yankoff on the roster at tight end. Bates has been working slightly ahead of Sinnott, but the 3-10 Commanders have greater incentive to find out how Sinnott fares in an expanded role, as Sinnott was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and Ertz is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
