inherits 14% of LAC carries (49% vacated, his claim 30%); inherits 3% of LAC targets (38% vacated, his claim 7%)
Hampton rushed 15 times for 56 yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Chargers' 24-16 loss to the Bills on Sunday.
The Chargers' No. 1 back got seven more carries than change-of-pace option Keaton Mitchell, but he was only able to outpace the latter by four yards. It was a disappointing downturn for Hampton, who'd broken out with 94 rushing yards and a touchdown while adding a 2-21-0 receiving line against the Raiders in Week 2. The Chargers are now alarmingly 0-3 heading into a daunting Week 4 road matchup against the Seahawks, but Hampton figures to remain in a clear-cut lead role for that contest.
Hampton rushed 23 times for 94 yards and a touchdown and brought in both targets for 21 yards in the Chargers' 26-14 loss to the Raiders on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Hampton put together a perfectly useful fantasy performance in the Chargers' alarming upset loss, spearheading Los Angeles' ground attack while handling a workhorse role. Hampton added a one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but his lost fumble in Raiders territory with 3:52 remaining in the game and the Bolts trying to erase a three-point deficit was a back-breaker, as it led to Las Vegas' game-clinching touchdown. Hampton has a rushing touchdown in each of the first two games of the new season, but a pair of lost fumbles as well. Nevertheless, the talented back will remain in the lead role for a Week 3 road showdown against the Bills next Sunday, a critical early-season contest for Jim Harbaugh's squad.
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.
Hampton rushed 12 times for 43 yards and a touchdown and lost a fumble in the Chargers' 26-14 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.
Hampton and the Chargers looked ready to roll early in the alarming loss, and the second-year back answered Arizona's opening-drive touchdown with a hard-charging eight-yard scoring run with 4:22 remaining. Hampton was very quiet from that point forward, however, and his lost fumble at Arizona's 34-yard line on the following possession both cost Los Angeles a potential scoring opportunity and led to a Cardinals field goal. Hampton also was surprisingly shut out of any pass-catching opportunities, but he should have a good chance at a larger workload in a Week 2 divisional home clash against the Raiders next Sunday.
The RBs priced immediately above and below him.
