Klare (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's season-opener versus San Francisco in Melbourne, Australia, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.
The Rams liked Klare enough to select him in the second round of the NFL Draft in April, but he's not going to be an option for the team in Week 1. Los Angeles has a crowded tight-end room that includes three veterans in Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee and Davis Allen along with second-year pro Terrance Ferguson, so Klare may not log much playing time this year as long as those above him in the pecking order are healthy.
Klare brought in one of two targets for six yards in the Rams' 20-18 preseason win over the Chargers on Thursday.

Chad Reuter of NFL.com has the Dolphins selecting Klare in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 90th overall.
The Dolphins are in the market for more talent on offense after trading Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos, which is why Reuter has Miami selecting Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion late in the first round. The Dolphins also need more depth at tight end following the departures of Julian Hill and Darren Waller, so the team could look to grab Klare late on Day 3. Per Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, Klare is an athletic pass-catching tight end that can contribute as a run blocker, has a deep route tree, can generate separation across the field and line up in multiple positions, attributes that could earn him a large target share right off the bat in his rookie season. In his final collegiate season at Ohio State, Klare caught 43 passes for 448 yards and two touchdowns across 13 games.
Klare announced Tuesday that he'll forgo a fifth season of eligibility at Ohio State to enter the 2026 NFL Draft, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
