Allen completed 12 of 19 passes for 210 yards with one touchdown and one interception while adding 10 carries for 121 yards and another score and a two-point conversion pass in the Bills' 37-34 overtime win against the Rams on Monday night.
Facing a Rams defense that had forced plenty of inefficiency through the air from both wide receivers and tight ends and operating without both DJ Moore (shoulder) and Joshua Palmer (shoulder), Allen unsurprisingly recorded a season low in completions. However, the prolific signal-caller more than made up for it on the ground with a season-high rushing yardage total, as well as his eighth rushing touchdown of the season. Allen's most crucial runs outside of his one-yard scoring dive early in the fourth quarter came on Buffalo's final drive in overtime, when he rattled off 19- and 13-yard scrambles to move the ball from the Bills' 41-yard line to the Rams' 27-yard line to set up an eventual game-winning field goal from Tyler Bass. Allen also added his seventh passing score of the season late in the third quarter on a seven-yard strike to Keon Coleman, and the two-time All-Pro will next turn his sights to a Week 6 road matchup against the Raiders on Sunday.
Allen (knee) wasn't even listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Allen played every snap in last Sunday's win over the Chargers but took a shot to his knee late in the contest, causing some concern on social media. He's all good for Sunday's AFC East tilt with the reeling Patriots, who just got blown out in Jacksonville last Sunday. Fantasy's QB1 through three weeks, Allen is coming off a down Week 3 versus Los Angeles but still has a 13-point fantasy lead on overall QB2 Brock Purdy.
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.
Bills head coach Joe Brady downplayed any concern about Allen's health after the quarterback took a hit to his knee area during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 24-16 win over the Chargers, Alex Brasky of SI.com and Alec White of the team's official site report. "We're gonna have to see how [Allen] progresses these next couple days," Brady said. "Josh is always a little [sore] after the game."
With just under 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, a Chargers defender appeared to plow into the side of Allen's left knee at the end of an eight-yard run, leaving the quarterback grimacing in pain afterward. Allen didn't end up missing any snaps and even handled a designed run later on during that same possession, but he was seen favoring the knee in the locker room after the game, per Chris Trapasso of BuffaloRumblings.com. Allen could receive some extra treatment over the next several days while he continues to manage the knee issue, but Brady offered no indication that the star quarterback is at any risk of sitting out next Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Allen and the Bills will open their 2026 regular-season schedule with a road game against the Texans on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Allen draws a daunting Week 1 matchup, as Houston allowed just 17.4 points per game during the 2025 regular season, which was second-fewest in the league. Buffalo's star quarterback underwent surgery on a broken bone in his foot in January, but he's expected to be cleared for action well before the start of the regular season.
The QBs priced immediately above and below him.
