inherits 6% of LV carries (32% vacated, his claim 17%)
Washington logged a five-yard carry and caught his lone target for five yards during the Raiders' 45-17 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
Ashton Jeanty ended up being cleared to play Sunday after working through ankle and foot injuries during Week 5 prep, so Washington operated in his usual rotational role. He ended playing one five offensive snaps, well behind Jeanty (45) and Dylan Laube (23), so Washington's grip on the RB2 role seems to have weakened. The Raiders will return home for their next two games, starting with a Week 7 tilt against the Bills on Oct. 18.
Washington should be in line for his regular role Sunday against New England with Ashton Jeanty (foot/ankle) listed as active for the contest.
Washington was a hot name on the waiver wire this week after news surfaced of starter Ashton Jeanty dealing with a plantar fasciitis flare-up. The ankle/foot problems forced Jeanty to practice in a limited basis Thursday and miss Friday's session entirely, leading to some speculation that Jeanty would be in danger of missing the Week 5 matchup. Of course, Washington would have taken on a much greater role in that situation, but Jeanty's pregame warmup appeared to go well, and he was ultimately cleared for action. Washington still would be the next man up in the event of a re-injury or other form of aggravation, however.
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.
Washington rushed nine times for 18 yards in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Chiefs. He added one catch for minus-1 yard on two targets.
Washington's nine carries were his most in a single game to begin the season and came one week after he broke out for 54 yards and a touchdown on five carries against the Saints. The rookie running back closed the gap some on Ashton Jeanty atop the backfield, but Washington didn't do much with his chances against Kansas City. He remains one of the stronger fantasy bench stashes.
Washington turned five carries into 54 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 35-27 win over the Saints.
Washington was only on the field for 11 of the team's 70 offensive snaps, but he still left his mark on the contest. Most notably, the running back broke loose for a 36-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter. Washington is a distant No. 2 option behind Ashton Jeanty in the backfield, but he has now rushed 15 times for 102 yards and a touchdown over three contests to open the 2026 campaign.
Washington rushed three times for seven yards while failing to catch his only target during Sunday's 26-14 win over the Chargers.
Washington was far less efficient with his carries in Week 2, averaging 2.3 YPC after he turned seven carries into 41 yards against the Dolphins in the team's regular-season opener. The running back operated as a distant No. 2 option in the backfield, as Ashton Jeanty logged 21 carries for 48 yards while catching four of seven targets for 15 yards. Washington is nothing more than a bench stash option in fantasy leagues at the moment.
Washington could still play a sizable role in Week 1 against the Dolphins, even with Ashton Jeanty (ankle) expected to suit up, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.
Washington impressed the Raiders' coaching staff in the preseason, during which the rookie fourth-round pick rushed for 168 yards on 23 carries across three games, averaging a robust 7.3 yards per carry. Jeanty has returned to full practice participation in the week leading up to Sunday's regular-season opener against the Dolphins, but the 2025 first-round pick missed a chunk of practice time due to the ankle injury he suffered Aug. 23. With Jeanty still shaking off the cobwebs, Washington is primed for some added opportunities in his regular-season debut as the Raiders face the Dolphins in a battle between two teams expected to finish near the bottom of the standings this season.
The RBs priced immediately above and below him.
