Metcalf brought in five of nine targets for 115 yards in the Steelers' 27-24 loss to the Browns on Thursday.
Metcalf led the Steelers across the stat sheet in receptions, receiving yards and targets, and his production in the first two categories also qualified as new season highs. The veteran wideout started slowly, but he came on with catches of 43, 22 and 28 yards in the fourth quarter. The standout night was a welcome sight for fantasy managers, who'd seen Metcalf post an inefficient and modest 11-98-1 line on 24 targets over his first three games. Metcalf will aim to carry over the momentum into a Week 5 home matchup against the Colts on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Metcalf led the Steelers in targets again but put forth a second consecutive inefficient outing after turning 10 targets into just four catches for 40 yards in the season opener against the Falcons. Rookie second-round pick Germie Bernard led the team with 35 receiving yards Sunday in the absence of Michael Pittman (foot) as Aaron Rodgers threw for just 187 yards on 4.8 yards per pass attempt. Metcalf's heavy volume from Rodgers is encouraging, but Pittsburgh's passing game has underwhelmed as a whole heading into a Week 3 home game against the Bengals.

Metcalf is set to catch passes from Aaron Rodgers again in 2026, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Rodgers and the Steelers are expected to agree on a one-year contract.
Metcalf recorded 850 receiving yards during the 2025 regular season, marking the seventh consecutive campaign in which the veteran wide receiver notched at least that many receiving yards. He'll continue to work as a key target for Rodgers in a Steelers offense that bolstered its wide receiver room by trading for Michael Pittman and drafting Germie Bernard in the second round.
