Waddle secured four of seven targets for 24 yards in the Broncos' 17-14 overtime win over the Seahawks on Thursday.
Waddle exited the game briefly due to a shoulder injury, but he was still able to finish as the Broncos' reception and targets leader on the night. Waddle's yardage total, modest as it was, also qualified him for runner-up status in that category on a night when Bo Nix threw for only 107 yards and averaged 4.0 yards per attempt. Waddle's production has suffered collateral damage from Nix's constant short-area throwing thus far this season, as the veteran receiver is averaging a career-low 10.4 yards per reception and just 38.0 receiving yards per game heading into a Week 7 road matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 25.
Waddle suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter of Thursday's game against the Seahawks but was able to return, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post and Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com report.
Now that he's back after missing a handful of minutes of game action, Waddle will look to add to his two catches (on five targets) for 15 yards.
Waddle corralled two of five targets for 19 yards and also had a nine-yard carry during Sunday's 23-17 road win against the Chargers.
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.
Waddle has hit once (8-138-0 on 10 targets in Week 2 against the Jaguars) and otherwise hasn't done much (10-66-1 on 21 targets) in his other four appearances in his first campaign with the Broncos. It didn't help any of Denver's skill-position players that QB Bo Nix's 27 passes went for only 123 yards, and a quick turnaround to face the Seahawks defense Thursday isn't a recipe for Waddle or any of his teammates to turn around their fortunes to begin the 2026 season.
Waddle (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Following the Broncos' Week 3 win over the Rams, Waddle was spotted with his walking boot on his right foot, but he wasn't inhibited by the injury during Week 4 prep. He was a full participant in practices Wednesday through Friday, clearing the way for him to head into the weekend without a designation. Waddle isn't expected to face any restrictions with his snaps Sunday.
Waddle (leg) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
Though he was seen donning a walking boot following Sunday's win over the Rams, Waddle may have just wearing the boot as a precaution. He was back on the field three days later and took every rep in practice, with head coach Sean Payton relaying afterward that Waddle is "doing fine." Waddle thus looks like he'll be ready to handle his usual allotment of snaps in Sunday's game at San Francisco.
Waddle is believed to be "fine" despite being seen wearing a walking boot on his right foot following Sunday's victory over the Rams, Sam Jane of The Denver Post reports.
Concern was raised about Waddle's status after he was spotted -- per Jon Heath of Broncos Wire -- with a boot on his foot Sunday night, but Jane's report indicates Waddle is not dealing with any sort of serious setback. More will be known about Waddle's status either at the start of or after Denver's Wednesday practice session.

The Broncos haven't indicated the specific nature of the issue, but it appears Waddle is not dealing with any sort of serious setback. The wideout's practice reps are likely to be limited early in the week, but so long as he sheds the boot quickly, he should be good to go for a Week 4 tilt against the 49ers.
Waddle caught two of seven targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 30-26 win over the Rams. He also rushed once for 14 yards and caught a two-point conversion.

Ben Solak of ESPN.com opines the pairing of Waddle, who was traded to the Broncos this offseason, with head coach Sean Payton's offensive scheme could produce prolific results.
Payton technically won't be calling plays for Denver, but the offense still has the head coach's fingerprints all over it. Waddle finally gives the Broncos a viable top receiver to pair with Courtland Sutton, and his speed and experience on quick-breaking routes over the middle could be the answer to solving Bo Nix's past trouble against zone coverage, while also opening up the field for the rest of the team's pass catchers.
