inherits 11% of NO targets (69% vacated, his claim 16%)
Olave secured four of six targets for 46 yards in the Saints' 23-13 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
Olave found himself in the familiar position of either tying for the team lead or setting the pace for the Saints in receptions, receiving yards and targets, but the numbers he generated in each of those categories left plenty to be desired. Olave's substandard production should be taken in context, however, considering Tyler Shough threw for only 96 yards at 3.8 yards per attempt and was picked off twice as well. Olave's numbers were easily season lows across the board, but he should have a good chance to bounce back in a Week 6 road matchup against the Giants next Sunday.
Olave (rest/foot) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.
The Saints held a walkthrough Wednesday, during which Olave logged a rest day. As of Thursday, he mixed back into drills, but a foot injury was added to the practice report after his capped session. His ability to handle some reps while dealing with a health concern generally is a good sign that his status isn't in question for Week 5, but Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's contest versus the Vikings.
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.

Olave (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday at Baltimore, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Olave made an early exit from Thursday's practice due to a hamstring injury, but it was considered a precautionary measure at the time, per Underhill. Olave remained limited Friday and entered the weekend listed as questionable for Week 2 action, but Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Sunday morning that the wide receiver was slated to play. Prior to being confirmed as active, Olave was expected to have no limitations on his workload, according to Underhill, a reality that amounted to 10 catches (on 13 targets) for 182 yards in a season-opening overtime loss in Detroit.
Olave (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens, is on track to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Olave took a designation into Sunday after closing Week 2 prep with a pair of practices due to the hamstring injury he sustained during Thursday's session. According to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, Olave made the trip to Baltimore with his teammates, and barring a setback in pregame warmups, he'll be formally cleared to play upon the release of the Saints' inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Underhill adds that Olave isn't expected to face any limitations in terms of snaps.
Olave is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens due to a hamstring injury, but if he's cleared to play, then the veteran wide receiver will draw plenty of attention from Baltimore's secondary, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey said earlier in the week that "putting a cap on Olave is kind of where it starts." Olave is coming off an outstanding Week 1 performance against the Lions, finishing with a 10-182-0 receiving line on 13 targets that included four catches of 20-plus yards, two of which went for more than 40 yards. He's the Saints' clear WR1, but if he's not cleared to play or he's limited with a snap count or by the Ravens' secondary, then Tyler Shough will have to turn to other options like Devaughn Vele, Bryce Lance, Juwan Johnson, Travis Etienne and Alvin Kamara.

Olave (hamstring) departed Thursday's practice early as a precaution, but it isn't expected to impact his ability to play, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Olave showed up on the Saints' second Week 2 practice report Thursday with a hamstring injury, which may stem from the cramping that he dealt with Week 1 during a 10-182-0 performance on 13 targets at Detroit. Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game in Baltimore, but his status may not be entirely confirmed until about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Olave signed a four-year extension with the Saints on Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Olave's extension is worth up to $132 million and includes $90 million guaranteed, per Terrell's ESPN colleague Adam Schefter. The veteran receiver's representatives had been in discussions with the team since the beginning of last season, and the new contract is the biggest the Saints have given to a wide receiver since Michael Thomas in 2019. Olave developed a blood clot in the final week of the 2025 regular season, but general manager Mickey Loomis confirmed prior to the start of camp that Olave had been fully cleared.
