inherits 7% of TEN carries (72% vacated, his claim 10%)
Levis agreed Tuesday to sign with the Jets' practice squad, Tom Pelissero of Netflix reports.
The Jets will cut Bailey Zappe from their practice squad and have Levis replace him in their quarterback room. A 2023 second-round pick, the 27-year-old Levis was waived by the Titans at the end of the preseason after he completed 61 percent of his passes for 7.0 yards per attempt and a 21:16 TD:INT to go with a 70-240-1 rushing line across 21 starts over his first three seasons in the NFL.
Levis was waived by the Titans on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of The Ringer reports.
Levis failed to win the backup quarterback spot over Mitchell Trubisky (biceps). The 2023 second-round pick of the Titans started 21 regular-season games across his first two campaigns before missing all of 2025 due to a shoulder injury. Levis played throughout the recently concluded preseason, showing that he has regained health. He'll likely have to settle for a practice-squad spot somewhere, though it's possible a team that's unhappy with its current backup quarterback puts in a claim for Levis.
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.
