The Panthers placed Legette (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Legette has been working through a knee injury the last two weeks, and while he was slated to miss a second straight contest Sunday against the Lions, he'll now sit out at least the next four (including Week 4), meaning his next chance for game action is Sunday, Nov. 8 versus the Broncos. In Legette's continued absence, Carolina will lean on Tetairoa McMillan, Jalen Coker (quadriceps), Brycen Tremayne, John Metchie and David Moore at wide receiver.
Legette (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the Lions, Alex Zietlow of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Legette popped up on the injury report Thursday after practicing without limitations Wednesday. The 2024 first-round pick scored a 55-yard touchdown as part of a two-catch Week 2 performance against the Falcons after being held without a reception by the Bears in Week 1. Per Joe Person of The Athletic, Legette said Monday that he went for an MRI on his injury. Carolina is banged up at wide receiver behind Tetairoa McMillan, as Jalen Coker (ankle) was also sidelined Thursday.

Ben Solak of ESPN.com believes that Legette may not be a part of the Panthers' future if he cannot turn things around in his third NFL season.
Legette was selected by the Panthers in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft after a strong final season at South Carolina. His production dipped noticeably in 2025, partially due to the addition of Tetairoa McMillan and the emergence of Jalen Coker. The Panthers added wideout Chris Brazzell in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, so Legette may see his snap count diminish significantly this season unless he can entrench himself as a more reliable option in the passing game for quarterback Bryce Young.
