The 49ers placed Stribling (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday.
Stribling suffered what appeared to be a serious non-contact injury during the 49ers' Week 1 win against the Rams in Melbourne, Australia, but afterward tests revealed that his left Achilles was intact, and eventually he was diagnosed with a deltoid sprain of his left ankle. After undergoing surgery, he's expected to miss roughly 10 weeks, meaning a move to IR was inevitable. At least during the initial weeks of Stribling's absence, Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel, Demarcus Robinson, Jacob Cowing, Jordan Watkins and KhaDarel Hodge will handle WR duties for San Francisco.
Stribling underwent ankle surgery Wednesday and is expected to miss 10 weeks, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Stribling, who's dealing with a shoulder injury ahead of Week 1, has a chance to be the NFL leader in rookie receptions in 2026, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com suggests.
Stribling, the first pick of the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, has looked like he belongs right from the start of offseason work. The Mississippi product then often stood out in training camp practices and proceeded to bring in 11 of 13 targets for 109 yards over the 49ers' first two preseason games before being held out of the exhibition finale. Graziano notes that while other capable veterans in San Francisco's wide-receiver room certainly will command their share of targets, he believes Stribling and Brock Purdy could develop quick chemistry.
