The Seahawks opted not to sign Mixon (foot) after he underwent a physical for the team Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
With Jadarian Price (chest) recently landing on injured reserve and with Zach Charbonnet (knee) not expected to return from the PUP list until at least Week 6, Seattle planned to bring Mixon aboard to bolster their running-back room. However, the Seahawks evidently had some reservations about Mixon's health after reviewing his physical, and the 30-year-old will now remain a free agent. Mixon last appeared in the NFL with the Texans in 2024, as he missed the entire 2025 campaign due to an unspecified foot/ankle injury that he ultimately addressed with a surgery earlier this past offseason.
The Seahawks are expected to sign Mixon to a contract, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.

Mixon is expected to work out for the Seahawks on Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
The former Bengal and Texan sat out all of last season with a foot injury that was believed to be potentially career-ending, but Mixon isn't ready to hang up his cleats just yet. He was productive prior to the injury, delivering his fifth career 1,000-yard rushing campaign in 2024 for Houston with 12 total touchdowns in 14 regular-season games. Seattle's backfield has struggled this season without Kenneth Walker, and with rookie Jadarian Price sidelined by a chest injury and Zach Charbonnet not yet cleared to return from a torn ACL, Mixon could have a quick path to the No. 1 spot on the depth chart if he gets signed and still has any of his old juice.
