Thompson (quadriceps) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Though Thompson is suiting up for the first time since Week 2, it's unclear how extensively he'll be able to play Sunday. The Chargers have a full list of injured players on their seven-man inactive list, so it's conceivable that much like Ladd McConkey a week ago in the team's loss to the Broncos, Thompson could be available only as an emergency option after he was limited in practices Wednesday through Friday. During the Chargers' first two games of the season, Thompson handled a light role on offense, playing just 22 total snaps while recording one reception for 13 yards on three targets.
Thompson (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Thompson will miss a second consecutive game while working through a quadriceps injury. He was unable to practice during Week 4 prep, so a limited session ahead of Week 5 against the Broncos would indicate that the rookie fourth-rounder is progressing in his recovery. Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Derius Davis will both work in rotational roles behind Ladd McConkey (foot), Quentin Johnston and Tre' Harris in Thompson's absence.

Tre' Harris has been operating as a starter in three-receiver sets at OTAs, ahead of Thompson, per Kris Rhim of ESPN.com.
The Chargers have an opening alongside Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston. Harris and Thompson are the top two candidates to fill that spot, but the early edge in that competition belongs to Harris. Thompson was drafted in the fourth round out of Mississippi State, one year after the Chargers used a 2025 second-round selection on Harris out of Ole Miss. Harris has the edge in experience but is coming off a pedestrian rookie regular season in which he posted just 324 receiving yards.
