Kupp caught five of 10 targets for 50 yards during the Seahawks' 17-14 overtime loss to the Broncos on Thursday.
Kupp accumulated 15 targets through the first five games of the regular season, but the veteran wide receiver was peppered Thursday by Sam Darnold, who attempted a season-high 51 passes. It was the first time since Week 12 of the 2024 season (with the Rams) that Kupp saw double-digit targets, and he finished second in that category Thursday behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba (16). Kupp's best days are behind him, but he's a valuable safety blanket for Darnold in the passing game. Kupp will bring a 16-179-1 receiving line (25 targets) into Seattle's Week 7 bout against the Chiefs on Sunday, Oct. 25.
Kupp caught two of three passes for 15 yards during Sunday's 32-29 loss to the 49ers.
It was the fourth time in five games this season that Kupp saw three targets or fewer, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba pacing the Seahawks' pass catchers with a 5-102-1 receiving line on eight targets during Sunday's loss. There's no expectation that Kupp will recapture the form he had during his tenure with the Rams, and he figures to be limited to a complementary role in the Seahawks' offense. That said, Smith-Njigba has popped up on each of Seattle's first two estimated practice reports as a limited participant due to an ankle injury. That is worth monitoring ahead of Thursday night's road game against the Broncos, whose defense will likely be without star outside cornerback Pat Surtain (ankle).
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.
Kupp (back) was a full participant at the Seahawks' practice Thursday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Kupp opened the week with a limited practice due to a back injury, but he now appears to be back to full health. It is the second straight week that the wide receiver has been limited Wednesday before logging a full session Thursday. He'll look to take advantage of the return of quarterback Sam Darnold on Sunday against the Commanders.
Kupp (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
The veteran receiver dealt with the back issue in practice last Wednesday before being upgraded to full work Thursday. He could follow a similar path this week. Kupp has just four catches for 55 yards on five targets through two games, as Jaxon Smith-Njigba has dominated the targets and big plays for Seattle.
Kupp caught both of his targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 31-7 victory versus Arizona.
Kupp wasn't very productive, but that was the case for all of Seattle's wideouts aside from Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who dominated with nine catches for 155 yards and one touchdown. The only other Seahawks player to log more than Kupp's two targets was Rashid Shaheed, who put up a 3-35-0 line on six targets. Through two weeks, Kupp has tallied a modest four receptions for 55 yards. With Smith-Njigba dominating the targets in Seattle's passing game, Kupp may struggle to put up consistent production this season.
Kupp (back) was a full participant at the Seahawks' practice Thursday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Kupp opened the week with a limited session Wednesday as a result of a back injury, but he was able to erase any concern about his availability for Week 2 with a full practice one day later. The wide receiver caught two of three targets for 35 yards in the team's 13-10 win over New England on Sept. 9, and he'll be working with Drew Lock at quarterback against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Kupp was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a back injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Kupp may have tweaked his back during the Seahawks' 13-10 win over the Patriots in Week 1, when he played 39 of 50 snaps on offense (78.0 percent) and finished with two catches on three targets for 35 yards. Kupp's status for Sunday's NFC West tilt against the Cardinals doesn't appear to be in serious jeopardy, and he'll have two more chances to increase his practice participation and avoid an injury designation for Week 2. The Seahawks' pass catchers figure to see a downtick in production with Drew Lock starting at quarterback for the injured Sam Darnold (lower body).
The WRs priced immediately above and below him.
