The Chargers placed Lance (groin) on injured reserve Saturday.
Lance has been on the Chargers' injury report since late September due to a groin issue. He suited up for each of the Chargers' last two games, but it appears his injury has regressed enough for him to warrant a stint on injured reserve. As such, Lance will be sidelined for at least four games, and the next time he can play is Week 10 against the Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 16. DJ Uiagalelei will be the Chargers' backup to Justin Herbert while Lance is sidelined.
Lance (groin) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Lance is expected to be under center for the Chargers in their regular-season finale, with Daniel Popper of The Athletic reporting that Justin Herbert won't get the start.
The Chargers are locked into a wild-card spot, so coach Jim Harbaugh is expected to give Herbert a rest ahead of the postseason. Lance has made three appearances so far in 2025 and gone 7-for-13 on pass attempts for 90 yards without a touchdown or interception while also adding 16 rushing yards. Lance will be facing a Broncos squad that can claim a first-round bye and home-field advantage through the AFC side of the playoffs with a win.
