Chism caught five of six targets for 57 yards and added a two-yard rush during Sunday's 45-17 win over the Raiders.
Chism was able to tie tight end Eli Raridon for the team lead in catches, and he set a new career high with 57 receiving yards. The 24-year-old has now reeled in nine of 13 targets for 98 yards and a touchdown over the Patriots' last four contests.
Chism (coach's decision) is inactive for Wednesday's game against the Seahawks.
The undrafted wide receiver out of Eastern Washington cracked the Patriots' 53-man roster after training camp for the second year in a row. He'll be a healthy scratch for the regular-season opener, and his next chance to see playing time is Week 2 against the Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 20. The Patriots will have five active wide receivers for Week 1, a group headlined by A.J. Brown, Romeo Doubs and DeMario Douglas.
Chism will have the opportunity to compete for the No. 3 wideout role in training camp, though Chad Graff of The Athletic relays that the Eastern Washington product could be the odd-man out of a spot on the 53-man roster if the Patriots utilize more heavy personnel groupings on offense.
Everyone sharing the ball with Efton, most valuable first.
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.
Chism made the Patriots' 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent in 2025 and ended up playing in 11 regular-season games, contributing on special teams as a kick returner while catching all three of his targets for 75 yards and a touchdown. While the WR3 role usually goes to someone who can play in the slot, the Patriots' approach to their offensive gameplan means that players like Kayshon Boutte, Kyle Williams and Mack Hollins could be ahead of both Chism and Demario Douglas for the No. 3 spot behind A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs. Chism's odds of securing a spot on the 53-man roster would be in further jeopardy if he loses out to Douglas for the slot receiver role.
Chism caught three passes for 75 yards and a touchdown across eight regular-season games during the 2025 season.
