Meyers brought in both of his targets for 12 yards during the Bengals' 31-24 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
Meyers entered Sunday on the heels of a huge performance on both offense and special teams during the Bengals' Week 4 loss to the Jaguars, when top pass catchers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins sustained injuries. Chase and Higgins were both cleared to play against Miami and didn't face any restrictions in their respective snap counts, so Meyers reverted to a rotational role and was on the field for only 19 of Cincinnati's 65 offensive snaps (29.2 percent). The Bengals will enjoy their Week 6 bye before hitting the road for Week 7 against the Ravens on Sunday, Oct. 25.
Meyers brought in seven of nine targets for 82 yards, returned six kickoffs for 161 yards and ran back two punts for nine yards in the Bengals' 22-17 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.
Meyers opened the game as the Bengals' No. 3 receiver, but the former CFL standout was operating as Joe Burrow's top wideout by the time the team's final drive of the afternoon rolled around. Ja'Marr Chase exited the game due to a concussion in the first half, while Tee Higgins was forced from the contest just after the six-minute mark of the fourth quarter due to an adductor injury. Meyers ultimately finished with new career highs across his receiving line while also remaining effective in his special-teams role. With the status of both Chase and Higgins highly uncertain in the immediate aftermath of Sunday's loss and Andrei Iosivas (thumb, IR) still out of action, Meyers could remain in the No. 1 receiver role in a Week 5 road matchup against the Dolphins next Sunday.
Above the line the plan was to throw; below it, to run.
Meyers has made the Bengals' initial 53-man roster, Charlie Clifford of NBC 5 Cincinnati reports.
Meyers signed with the Bengals in January after spending the previous two years in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The 26-year-old wide receiver is expected to fill a depth role on offense and is an option as a return man on special teams.
The WRs priced immediately above and below him.
