Jennings again got the second most snaps at wide receiver for the Vikings (47) in Week 5 with Jordan Addison (hamstring) out, but it only translated to one target on the afternoon. Jennings has failed to draw more than two targets in any game so far this season, and his role could be further diminished after Minnesota's bye in Week 6 if Addison is able to return to action.
Jennings is in line to see a boost in targets as the Vikings' No. 2 receiver for Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Dolphins, due to Justin Jefferson (hamstring) being ruled inactive for the contest.
Jennings' Vikings tenure has gotten off to an utterly forgettable start, as the veteran receiver has just one reception for one yard on three targets through two games. While Jennings was unable to capitalize on Jefferson's early exit from a Week 3 win over the Buccaneers, the former did log a season-high 47 snaps and ran 24 routes during the contest. Both numbers -- along with Jennings' target share -- will be in line to increase against Miami with Jefferson out, although the possibility Minnesota eventually has the luxury of turning to a run-heavy approach in the second half is also high considering the generally uncompetitive current state of the Dolphins.

Although Justin Jefferson (ankle) departed in the first half Sunday and didn't return, Jennings didn't see an increase in his production. Jennings did, however, post an 80 percent offensive snap share, and he figures to slide into the No. 2 wideout role alongside Jordan Addison on Sunday versus Miami if Jefferson can't suit up. Even with that in mind, Jennings has produced just one catch (on three targets) through two contests, so expectations should be held in check regardless of Jefferson's status.

The fit between Jennings, who was one of the bigger-name remaining free agents at any position, and the Vikings appears to be solid, considering he could serve as an ideal No. 3 receiver behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison while catching passes from either J.J. McCarthy or offseason addition Kyler Murray.
