With CeeDee Lamb (quadriceps) healthy and cleared to play Sunday night against the Packers, Pickens will handle his normal role as Dallas' WR2.
Lamb exploded for 17 catches in Week 4, but the Cowboys made a concerted effort to get Pickens more involved last Thursday night against the Bucs, as he secured nine of 13 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown. Lamb suffered a quad bruise late in the game, and it allowed Pickens to be the clear WR1 and target hog while Lamb nursed his injury on the sideline. Pickens has weekly monster box-score upside, and he can still go off for a big line even with Lamb past his bruised thigh.

Pickens was a bit player in the air attack during a Week 4 comeback win against the Texans in which CeeDee Lamb (quadriceps) recorded a massive 17-189-1 line on 21 targets, but it was the former's turn to shine Thursday. The fact Lamb was in and out of the game during the latter stages of the fourth quarter did have some impact on Pickens' involvement, but the latter was already having a big night that included his first receiving touchdown of the season on an 18-yard grab in the fourth quarter. Pickens ultimately finished with new season-high figures across his receiving line, and he'll be in line for a similarly busy night in a Week 6 road matchup against the Packers on Sunday night, Oct. 18 if Lamb is limited or misses that contest altogether.

Pickens had a couple drops in Sunday night's underwhelming season-opening performance. He was also quiet Week 1 last season with a 30-yard receiving performance against the Eagles, but Pickens went on to post career highs with 1,429 receiving yards and nine TDs during the 2025 regular season. The talented wide receiver has a nice rebound opportunity coming up Week 2 against a Washington secondary that was among the league's leakiest in 2025.
